The PRIME II Project was a partnership combining leading global health care organizations dedicated to improving the quality and accessibility of family planning and reproductive health care services throughout the world. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development and implemented by IntraHealth International, PRIME II focused on strengthening the performance of primary care providers as they work to improve services in their communities. To accomplish its goals, PRIME II applied innovative training and learning and performance improvement approaches in collaboration with host-country colleagues to support national reproductive health goals and priorities.

In dozens of languages, among people of many cultures, in urban centers and remote villages, PRIME II worked to ensure access to quality family planning services, prevent unplanned pregnancies, promote safe motherhood, increase the availability of postabortion care, and combat HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.
